Incorporated in 1982 and originally rented from the Uniting Church, Midway Road Community House Inc. is a
non-profit organisation that provides programs to meet the needs of the community. We provide self development programs and support groups, and more
The community centre offers guitar, computing, craft classes, sewing classes, literacy classes with free creche available for participants. Dungeons & Dragons group and space is available for hire.
We also facilitate groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, GROW mental health support
We also provide work placements through Job Networks such as Community Bridging Services, student placements for Cert 3 in Community Services and volunteer placements including meeting the Centrelink requirements.
Midway Road Community House Inc. is community owned and managed, giving the local community a place to belong to and an opportunity to become involved. The community now hold 75% of the equity with the remaining 25% being held by the Uniting Church. The house is currently managed by a Coordinator who assists and supports staff & volunteers with its daily operation.
Midway Road Community House Inc. is known for its friendly atmosphere, openness and flexibility in its response to the needs of the community. We encourage people to become involved to enrich their life experiences, recognise their strengths and develop new skills, all the while accepting and appreciating the diversity amongst the people who grace its doors.
