FREE HEALTH INFORMATION AND EDUCATION FOR COMMUNITY
The Pakistan Medical Association of South Australia (PMASA) represents many general practitioners and specialists, many of them working in City of Salisbury and City of Playford. In partnership with the councils and community groups we aim to facilitate health information and health education to about 8 sessions within the next 6 weeks. Considering the current Covid infections situation the session could be by Zoom.
The project is supported by Wellbeing SA and is in collaboration with the Salisbury Council and City of Playford Council. We envisaged this community service project considering the need for improved knowledge about and enhanced uptake of vaccination, and for booster doses, particularly in areas where vaccination rates lag rest of the state
Expanded Provision of Vaccination
Communication & Health Education

- A dedicated mobile phone line attended by a GP, 8-5 pm for the 8 weeks, to provide specific medical care related information to community members; for example, those who may wish to talk about their existing illness, vaccines, booster.
Communication & Health Education
- Information & Health Education Sessions for community members: in collaboration with community organisation.
- With support from Wellbeing SA, PMASA is also providing health education, dedicated vaccination clinics, and a free GP Covid-19 Hotline 0406 417 257. This hotline is for individuals in Salisbury and Playford council areas who may like to talk to a GP about their specific health situation relevant to Covid-19 vaccination or booster dose. For talk to a GP about vaccine, SMS 1 and your name.

From the moment you enter the gates of Midway Road Community House you feel welcome.
The community centre has formed strong community connections since it opened in 1982.
Louise has been attending Midway Road Community House for over 11 years and brings her granddaughter to the centre.
“I love the house, you come here and instantly feel calm,” Louise said. “It doesn’t matter if you come to attend a group or just for a cup of coffee, it’s a welcoming and wonderful place.”
Community is at the core of the centre, which is why the Midway Road Community House was awarded Community Group or Initiative of the year for the City of Playford’s Australia Day Awards.
